After much pressure by Iranian dissidents and an extensive investigation, the server and networking giant Cisco Systems has severed all ties with China based ZTE corp. The networking giant has come to the conclusion that the spying technology provided by ZTE to the Islamic Republic of Iran has been used for the sole purpose of spying on the Iranian society at large, aiding the ruling government in its continued arrest and repression of Iranian citizens.
