Curiosity has landed! Mission control at JPL erupts in joy. Hugging, clapping. The rover has touched down safely on Mars.
NASA reports that the Mars rover is completely on its own as it approaches the outermost of the planet's two moons.
Dr.Firouz Naderi the director for the Solar System Exploration Directorate at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory shared this message on his facebook page:
