Response From Barbara LOCHBIHLER, MP European Parliament, About The Dire Condition of Arash Sadeghi

Today, July 1, 2013, I received the following reply from European MP Barbara Lochbihler regarding the email appeal letter I sent to her from the Urgent Action (link below):

From: LOCHBIHLER Barbara (barbara.lochbihler@europarl.europa.eu) Sent: Mon 7/01/13 5:12 PM To: 'john burke' (utkanos@hotmail.com)

Dear Mr Burke

Thank you for updating us on the worrying case of Mr Arash Sadeghi. Under http://barbara-lochbihler.de/2/human-rights/letter-to-his-excellency-ambassador-of-the-islamic-republic-of-iran-about-the-situation-of-mr-arash-sadeghi.html you'll find a letter to the Ambassador of Iran to the EU that I issued last week, together with my colleagues Isabelle Durant and Tarja Cronberg. It is just a letter, but let us hope it helps create enough momentum for Tehran to change their minds in this specific case.

Best regards

Barbara Lochbihler

Letter to His Excellency, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran about the situation of Mr Arash Sadeghi
The imprisoned Iranian student Arash Sadeghi hasn't been seen by anyone for months. It is even unclear whether he is still alive. In a letter to the Iranian Ambassador to the EU, the Vice-President of the European Parliament Isabelle Durant, the chair of the Iran Delegation of the European Parliament Tarja Cronberg and myself demand that the political prisoner be released, and that the human rights of his family, his lawyers and himself be fully respected.

I URGE ALL FRIENDS TO KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK FOR ARASH AND TO KEEP TAKING ACTION DAILY, AT LEAST AS FAR AS THE TWEETS ARE CONCERNED. (BOTH THE TWEETS AND THE EMAIL APPEAL HAVE BEEN UPDATED RECENTLY)
