Cast and crew of the American television program Homeland – adapted from the Israeli series Hostages – are currently filming in Israel, and I met them this morning. It is at once a surprise and a delight to see the essence of a very Israeli story transplanted to a different setting; it is testament to the vibrancy of Israel's television and film industry, but also a reminder that we in Israel are not alone in standing up to the existential threats of the age.

I spoke with the crew about Operation Entebbe – a similar hostage-taking situation – and the challenging decisions faced by Israeli commanders at every turn.

It was a pleasure to speak with the cast and crew, including Nadiv Begahban, who expressed his delight at the warm welcome he has received in Israel. I am pleased that the crew are enjoying the best that Israel has to offer, and I wish them a pleasant stay.
